"Symptom Rating Scale"

1. ADHD child and parents rate on scale of 0 to 10 the degree to which
the ADHD child manifests each of the eight symptoms of ADHD: Inattention, Impulsivity,
Difficulty Delaying Gratification, Emotional Overarousal, Hyperactivity, Noncompliance,
Social Problems, Disorganization. 2. ADHD child and parents compare ratings.

1. Identify the problematic social situation and tell the client what
to do in that situation. 2. Show the client what skill to use to handle
the situation. 3. Client practices the skill.
"Straightforward Negotiation" Exercise

1. Clients agree on time and place to talk. 2. Clients clearly define
problem to be discussed. 3. Each client expresses his or her opinion
without being interrupted. 4. Each client listens sympathetically and

Clients agree on something to try out.
"Relationship Evaluation" Technique

extent to which different factors work together to cause problems. 3.
Client and teachers brainstorm alternative strategies, writing down all possible
solutions. 4. Client and teachers choose the most effective strategy. 5.
Client and teachers specify who is responsible for what and decide upon an
evaluation system. 6. Client and teachers initiate intervention. 7.
Client and teachers use evaluation system selected in the fifth step to evaluate
the effectiveness of the intervention.

tools to organize types of tasks. 4. Client follows schedule he or
she has established.
