1. Begin a game of catch.
2. Each time you or your child throws the ball, name a feeling that a person who has lost someone might feel.
3. Regulate the pass based on the intensity of the specified emotion.  For example, if the emotion is strong, throw the ball hard and high.  If the emotion is less intense, throw the ball lower and softer.

1. Make a tight fist around a stress ball.
2. Begin counting to sixty seconds.
3. Keep it tight.
4. At forty seconds, begin increasing the strength of your grip with each count.
5. Understand the physical discomfort represents emotional pain associated with anger.
6. Continue to squeeze tighter through the discomfort until sixty seconds is reached.
7. Slowly release your grip.

1. Talk to your child about the pet.
